ABOUT ME

I am not a career politician. I'm just some guy who thinks we can do better.

Are you looking around and asking "What the hell is going on?"

Me too.

Nazis in the street, fascists in the Statehouse and it feels like nothing is getting better.

Something has to be done.

My name is Jesse Baker and I’m running for Ohio Senate, District 25, because I believe our state deserves better.

I graduated from Ohio State in 2016 after spending the first half of college career at Columbus State Community College. I'm blessed to have a home in Westgate with my beautiful wife Emily and our two cats, Skipper and Paul Newman.

I haven't spent the the majority of my life working on behalf of politicians. Instead, I've been working, solving problems, and dealing with systems and structures that don’t work the way they should. Like a lot of Ohioans, I feel like the decisions made at the Statehouse are completely separate from the realities we face every day.

I’m running because too many people feel unheard.

Costs keep going up, paychecks don’t go far enough, rights keep getting stripped, and it feels like there aren't enough people actually trying to make the changes the average Ohioan needs.

I believe government should be bold, honest and focused on results. It should focus on working families, small businesses, and people who just want a fair shot at a decent life. That means engaging with the community, following through and calling out the bullshit happening.

I’m not running to climb a political ladder. I’m running because I care about this state and I want to be a voice for people who feel like they’ve been ignored for too long.

Ohio needs leaders who show up, tell the truth, and fight for what's right. And I want to be that fighter for you.

I'm here to fight for a better Ohio. Not just fiddle around on the margins and say "Good enough".
